I love the delightful ‘Pandas on Tour' exhibition by French artist Paulo Grangenon

This exhibition originated from the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in 2008 in order to bring attention to protecting endangered species around the world. At the invitation of the WWF, Grangenon created 1,600 pandas from recycled paper. This number represents the current amount of real pandas left in the world.

The World Wildlife Fund’s French section inaugurated the exhibition in a joint project with Grangeon in July 2008 at Paris City Hall
For the recent Taiwan exhibition, the artist specially created another 200 Formosan black bears in order to support wildlife protection acts for local animals. Hau Lung-bin (郝龍斌), mayor of Taipei City, said after the birth of the Taipei Zoo's giant panda cub there are more people aware of the need to protect endangered species. Through the exhibition, Hau hopes that people can not only learn more about this issue, but he hopes they will also care more about local wild animals.

The pandas surround a paper rhacophorus arvalis (carmland green tree frog) of Taiwan.

An audience of 'pandas' has appeared in a Taiwan theatre to highlight the plight of the endangered animals.

  5. What a creative way to bring attention to endangered species. Wish I could have seen it. It looks so wonderful even in pix, can imagine if one will to witness the exhibition "live". Any idea where will this go next? Or this is the end?

    3. They're made of some kind of paper or cardboard right? Looks light can just carry away....lol...
Pretend to be some staff, but getting into a car will be tough. You need a van. Then when you get it home, it occupies precious space & start gaining dust. After a week, you'll regret it totally & wish you haven't commit this crime....lol....
